City keeps pace with technology: Accepts payments by credit card

In an area in which paper money and coins can be found in fewer pockets and pocket books, the use of credit and debit cards seem to be the preferred means of paying for goods and services. The City of Germantown is trying to keep pace with that demand.

The City of Germantown accepts payments for many City services and programs by credit and debit card (MasterCard and Visa only). This method of payment has been available to residents and city customers since February 2005, and many people have already chosen to use it.

Credit and debit card payments are accepted at the following locations for the services listed:

Municipal Center Front Counter, 1930 South Germantown Road
  Utility bills
Real estate and personal property taxes
  Development fees

Courts Office, 1930 South Germantown Road
  Court fines
  Traffic fines
  Other court related fees

Germantown Community Library Checkout Counter, 1925 Exeter Road
  Checkout fees
  Overdue fines

Germantown Centre Information Desks, 1801 Exeter Road
  Membership fees
All program, class and camp fees
  Facility rentals

Payments can be made in person at the location that applies to the service. A 2.5% convenience fee will apply to all payments, excluding those made at the Germantown Centre.

Questions regarding the credit card method of payment can be directed to the Mayor's Action Center on the City of Germantown website, www.germantown-tn.gov, or by calling (901) 757-7200.
