Fishing Rodeo
Children ages 6 to 12 compete in the City's annual fishing rodeo in June at Johnson Road Park. Call 757-7382 for more information.

Germantown Charity Horse Show
Organized in 1948, this five-day event in early June is one of the largest multi-breed horse shows in the United States, attracting 700 to 1,000 horses. Classes range from kids and horses in costumes to Tennessee walking horses to the grand prix finale. The atmosphere is relaxed and festive. Contact the GCHS Association at 901-754-0009.

Family Fourth Celebration
Food, fireworks, fun and music make it a fantastic Fourth of July for families. Activities get underway with the Lions Club fishing rodeo at 9 a.m. in Municipal Park. Beginning at 5 p.m., residents troop to the park with picnic baskets or buy food at the concession stand. Games, moon bounces and a petting zoo, along with bands in the grandstand, entertain until the fireworks at 9:10 p.m. Call 757-7376 for more information.

Germantown Festival
Arts, crafts, food, entertainment and activities for youngsters turn C.O. Franklin Park into a giant festival on the first weekend after Labor Day. A highlight is the Sunday afternoon Running of the Weenies dachshund race in the Charity Horse Show arena. Call 757-9212.

Festival of Fun and Fright
Young children enjoy the Fairy Tale Trail and older kids and adults take to the Trail of Terror on the weekend before Halloween at Bob Hailey Athletic Complex. A modest trail fee goes to youth theatre groups that provide the actors and action; carnival games and refreshments are also available.

Holiday Tree Lighting
The City officially lights trees in Municipal Park in a ceremony on the Friday evening after Thanksgiving. Weather permitting, the event includes outdoor entertainment and activities for the whole family and an opportunity to talk with Santa Claus. Call 757-7376.

Journey to the North Pole
Children visit with Santa and the elves while enjoying games, prizes and crafts Call 757-7375.

Holiday Parade
Floats, school bands and units from the business community, churches, neighborhoods and civic organizations celebrate the winter holiday by parading along Farmington Boulevard and Exeter. Call 757-7376 to learn the parade date.

Business Expo
Sponsored by the Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce, the annual exposition showcases products and services of area businesses. The expo is held each April at Germantown Athletic Club. Call 755-1200

Senior Expo
The annual Germantown Senior Expo is one the area’s most exciting events for seniors. Scheduled for the first Thursday in November, it features health screenings, informational booths, door prizes and free food and drink. More than 1,500 seniors enjoy exhibits of goods and services geared to their needs and interests. More than 100 area businesses participate.
