Financial Services, located in Municipal Center, is responsible for managing all of the City’s fiscal affairs. Financial Services supports the other city departments and divisions through accounting, administrative services and financial reporting. Staff also manage City investments, obtain debt financing for capital projects and collect taxes, utility billings and other revenues.
Financial Services consists of four staff sections: Accounting, Budget, Investments and Purchasing Services. Support services provided City departments include contract administration, centralized purchasing, inventory and fixed asset control, financial reporting, courier services and insurance and risk management.
Financial Services functions as the City's Retirement Plan's' administrator, contracting with trustees, consultants and investment managers.
Germantown has maintained a triple-A credit rating with Moody’s since 1986 and with Standard and Poor’s since 1994.
