This is a nine-month probationary program for juvenile defendants who have received their first and only ticket. Upon order of the court, the juvenile must complete six hours of community service and attend one “Driving, Drugs and Alcohol” class. Upon successful completion assigned community service and the class, and if the juvenile does not receive another ticket during their nine month probationary period, the ticket will be dismissed with court costs. This ticket will not appear on the juvenile’s motor vehicle record.
The First Offenders Program is optional. If the parent or guardian does not want their child to participate in the program, the ticket can be paid. However, these violations will be reported to the Tennessee Department of Safety and will appear on the juvenile’s MVR.
