Nominate Excellent Teachers and Youth

The Teacher of the Month recognition is given each month during the school year to a teacher who has made a significant difference in the lives of his/her students, his/her school or the community. The teacher must teach full-time in a public or private school in Germantown. A student, parent, administrator or staff member may nominate the teacher. A Teacher of the Year will be chosen from the monthly winners.

The purpose of the Youth Excellence Award is to recognize a high school senior who has made a significant difference in his/her own life, the lives of others, the school he/she attends and/or the Germantown community. The nominee must demonstrate academic achievement (2.5 GPA), volunteer effort or community service or exemplary activities. The nominee must be a Germantown resident and a high school senior. The Horses are Here

In honor of the Germantown Charity Horse Show 's 60th Anniversary in 2008, we are celebrating with a Painted Horses Public Arts Community Event.

Various artists competed to win the chance to decorate life-sized horses, which are now on display throughout the city.

Download the map detailing locations of the horses.

The painted horses will remain on display before being moved to Saddle Creek in October. The horses will be corralled for a big party and auction. At the auction, each painted horse will be sold to the highest bidder.
