A few tips to protect yourself from being a victim of ID Theft

1) Don't leave purses/wallets unattended.

2) Don't leave credit cards, checks, etc. in vehicles.

3) Don't carry credit cards you don't use and don't keep credit you don't need.

4) Don't carry your Social Security card or have the SS number on driver's license or checks.

5) Do not list more than your address and phone number on your check.

6) Put outgoing mail in collection box not mailbox.

7) Collect mail as soon as possible after delivery.

8) Pay attention to billing cycles so you notice missing mail.

9) Don't give out personal information by telephone, mail, or the Internet unless you initiated the contact or are familiar with the business.

10) Shred billing statements and other documents that may contain personal information.

If you are a victim of ID Theft be sure to contact the three main credit bureaus to place a fraud alert on your account.
