Germantown is a city that promotes a healthy environment supporting a balanced notion of wellness for all ages.
As a "Healthy Community" within the Healthier Tennessee initiative of the Tennessee Governor's Foundation for Health & Wellness, the City of Germantown created "Healthy Germantown" to encourage healthy living within our community. Whether promoting physical activity, healthy eating, or stopping tobacco use, Healthy Germantown wants to help provide the community with resources to help citizens embrace a healthy lifestyle and encourage your neighbors to do the same. Check out our links for the latest episodes of Healthy Germantown TV, local resources and more.
Participate in events such as the Germantown Half Marathon and Mayors Cup 5K Run, Night Rider Family Bike Ride or any of the other sports teams or special events offered throughout the year. Information on these and more upcoming events can be found in the FYI Newsletter. Also, be sure to follow Healthy Germantown on Facebook. To help get you started with healthy habits, Healthier Tennessee has created a Streaks for Small Starts app that can be downloaded on Apple or Android devices.
For those who want to stop using tobacco, the state has a FREE program to help. Join the program at tnquitline.org or call the quitline at 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669)
