Germantown Parks and Recreation, GPAC and Germantown Athletic Club host a wide variety of camps during the summer months. From sports to music, there is something for everyone!

 

Parks and Recreation Camps

Registration opens Saturday, April 1, and continues until capacity is reached. Register online or visit the Parks and Recreation office at 2276 West Street, weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Space is limited and registration is on a first come, first served basis. For program information, contact Sarah Blackwell at 757-7389 or SBlackwell@Germantown-TN.gov. Have an outrageous summer with Germantown Parks and Recreation. Enjoy fun-filled days and a summer packed full of unique experiences that your child is sure to love. Each two-week session will focus on a different aspect of Germantown’s unique recreational offerings. The theme-based camps will be directed by a specialized instructor and include a field trip, swim day and various activities. Campers must be 6 years old by June 5. Participants must bring their own lunch, however, a daily snack and Friday lunches are provided. 

Camp Sports of All Sorts
Monday through Friday, June 5 to June 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ages: 6 to 12 years
Fee: $225, $15 discount for each additional sibling
Location: Houston Levee Park, 9777 Wolf River Boulevard
Participants enjoy a variety of games, sports, and outdoor activities to keep them moving and motivated.

Camp Create and Connect
Monday through Friday, June 19 to June 30, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ages: 6 to 12 years
Fee: $225, $15 discount for each additional sibling
Location: Pickering Center and C.O. Franklin Park, 7725 Poplar Pike
Participants creatively connect to the world around them through crafts, music and different forms of art.

Camp GREEN
Monday through Friday, July 10 to July 21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ages: 6 to 12 years
Fee: $225, $15 discount for each additional sibling
Location: Bobby Lanier Farm Park, 2730 Cross Country Drive
Germantown Recreation’s Environmental Education and Nature Camp will allow participants to experience the natural world surrounding them. Campers will learn about eco-friendly farming, local wildlife and of course camping and survival skills.

Reach Mini-Camps

Germantown Parks and Recreation is offering two REACH enrichment camp sessions. Pricing and schedules are distributed through flyers at participating schools. Camps include theater, art, Lego Master Builders, Lego Mindstorms NXT and Minecraft Mechanisms. Contact Sarah Blackwell at 757-7389 or SBlackwell@Germantown-TN.gov for more information. Smashing Aces Tennis Junior Camps

Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon
Session I         June 12 to 15
Session II        June 19 to 22
Session III       July 10 to 13
Session IV       July 17 to 20
Ages: 6 to 12 years
Fee: $120 per week, $100 for siblings
Camps are loaded with fun, instruction, drills, games and competitions. Campers learn tennis fundamentals, scoring, rules and sportsmanship, using the USTA teaching methods along with equipment and scoring that are size and age appropriate. Tennis racquets, balls, equipment and water are provided. Campers provide their own age appropriate racquet, water, towel and snack. To register, visit SmashingAcesTennis.com. Germantown Athletic Club Camps

These camps fill quickly! Members can make a reservation to register early on Sunday, March 26, by calling 757-7370. Registration opens to non-members at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 26. For more information, visit GACfitness.org or call 757-7370.

Full-Day Summer Camp
Weekdays, May 30 to August 4, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Fee: members $140 per week, non-members $155
A nonrefundable deposit of $40 for members and $55 for non-members is due at registration for each reserved week.
No two weeks are the same at the Club’s Full-Day Summer Camp. Activities are centered around weekly themes. Campers participate in group games, fitness classes, arts and crafts, swimming and visits to the Germantown Community Library. Camp is offered to children entering 1st grade through 6th grade. Join Germantown Athletic Club’s Full Day Summer Camp for a fun-filled and very active summer! 

Full Day Summer Camp Swim Lessons 
Mondays and Wednesdays
June 5 to 30 or July 10 to August 4
Fee: members $90, non-members $105 per session
Ages: 6 to 11
Lessons are conveniently offered during camp each Monday and Wednesday morning for four weeks. Camp counselors escort campers to and from the lessons. Summer camp swim lessons are available for summer camp participants only.

Counselor in Training (CIT)
Mondays through Fridays, May 30 to August 4, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Fee: members $100, non-members $115 per week
The Counselor in Training (CIT) program is available to rising 7th graders up to 15 years old who are ready and want to learn to mentor younger children. Duties may include assisting counselors by leading and participating in camp projects, swimming and fitness activities. Apply here.

 

GPAC Summer Arts Camps

Fairytale Ballet
Weekdays, 9 a.m. to noon
June 12 to 16 or 19 to 23
Ages: 3 to 6 years
Fee: $150
Experience the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast through stories, crafts, ballet, creative movement and music. Watch your little one become the belle of the ball on the final day in a special performance. One session per child.

Music Performance Workshop
Weekdays, June 26 to 30, 9 a.m. to noon
Ages: 10 to 18 years
Fee: $175
Ready to take your shredding or vocals to the next level? This camp taught by singer/guitarist Josh Threlkeld, is designed for more advanced students who are interested in translating their skills to the stage. Students will work individually and in small ensembles to build confidence and improve performance technique. This camp will finish with a showcase and additional opportunities to perform over the summer.

Be a Star Dance Camp
Weekdays, June 26 to 30, 1 to 4 p.m.
Ages: 6 to 10 years
Fee: $150
Ever wanted to STAR in a music video? Dancers will take classes in ballet, jazz and contemporary dance and learn how dance is captured on film. Students will learn choreography and acting techniques which will culminate in a video shoot on the last day. A copy of the video will sent via email to all participants.

Artventures in Drawing and Painting
Weekdays, July 10 to 14, 9 a.m. to noon
Ages: 5 to 7 years
Fee: $160
Do you like to draw, paint, sculpt and sketch? Learn about a different artist every day and create your own masterpieces inspired by artists new and old. Discover the greats and become the best artist you can be!

Art U Wear
Weekdays, July 10 to 14, 1 to 4 p.m.
Ages: 8 to 12 years
Fee: $160
Use your imagination to create all things wearable.  Students will examine how clothing and items we put on our bodies reflect and shape who we are while learning the techniques to create these items. Experiment with fabric painting, weaving and other techniques to create cool and unique clothing, jewelry, wallets and backpacks.

Superhero Stories
Weekdays, July 17 to 21, 9 a.m. to noon
Ages: 6 to 11 years
Fee: $150
Calling all super heroes and heroines! Favorite characters collide in this weeklong camp where students will explore acting, movement and voice while creating their own play. Kids can choose their favorite character or create their own while discovering that power can come from the most unlikely places. Finish the week with a short performance.

Play that Guitar!
Weekdays, July 24 to 28, 9 a.m. to noon
Ages: 8 to 16 years
Fee: $175
Taught by Memphis musician Josh Threlkeld, this camp is designed to electrify the ability and creativity of a beginning/intermediate student. Students will spend the week sharpening their technique, learning a song and collaborating with peers. The week culminates in a showcase. Students must provide their own guitars.
