Join the Germantown Historic Commission for a fun and educational history day at the John Gray House, a rare mid-1800s brick farmstead. Nestled in local history, this remarkable structure invites us to explore the full, complex story of life in this region during the 1850s — the joys and the hardships, the stories often told and the ones too long left unspoken.
Spend the afternoon with hands-on activities for adults and children rooted in 19th-century farm life. Special displays will showcase information and artifacts such as Native American life, the story of Freedom Quilts and their connection to enslaved people of this time, and the history of the John Gray home and its place in our community, offering a broader window into the world of this region during that era.
Keep an eye out for our photo spot around the grounds!
