The City of Germantown, in partnership with the Economic Development Commission, EDGE and the Germantown Chamber of Commerce, convened its annual Germantown Business Summit on Tuesday, October 28, at The Great Hall & Conference Center.

This year’s summit focused on leveraging time and efficiency with Artificial Intelligence (AI). “We’ve all taken a moment to slow down this morning to learn about something that is moving fast,” said Economic Development Director Cameron Ross, addressing the crowd of about 65 attending professionals. 

In addition to including two panel sessions with local business leaders who shared their experiences with ChatGPT and other AI tools, the summit featured keynote speaker Scott Finney, founder of Creating Value LLC. Finney specializes in delivering AI-powered systems that help businesses respond faster, work smarter and scale without chaos.

“Communicating with AI is now an essential skill,” Finney said. “It’s no longer just an option.”

He encouraged the audience to treat AI as a collaborator or business consultant and give it goals, feedback and detailed context for optimal results. 

As the summit concluded, Finney challenged the audience to begin working with AI immediately. “Get started today and do one thing new,” he said.
