Full-Depth Reclamation Project to Begin on Stout Road March 9

The City of Germantown has entered into a contract with Standard Construction to complete a Full-Depth Reclamation project on Stout Road from 7752 Stout Road to Germantown Road.
This section of roadway has experienced multiple failures due to the existing gravel-based roadbed. To provide a long-term solution, the project will include removal of the existing asphalt surface and stabilization of the underlying base. Crews will mix a cement stabilization material into the existing road base to create a solid foundation, followed by installation of a new asphalt surface.
Work is scheduled to begin March 9 and is expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete. The timeline may be adjusted due to weather conditions.
What to Expect During Construction
One lane in each direction will remain open at all times. The project will begin with construction of the soil cement foundation and base asphalt in the curb lanes in both directions. Once those lanes are complete, the contractor will transition to the inside lanes and follow the same process. Temporary traffic striping will guide motorists into the appropriate travel lanes throughout the project.
After the base work is completed and accepted by the City, the final surface layer and permanent striping will be installed.
All driveways and side streets will remain open. Due to the nature of the work, there may be brief intervals, generally no more than 15 minutes, when driveway access is temporarily blocked as construction equipment passes. Access will be restored as quickly as possible.
While motorists may experience some traffic slowdowns, the roadway will remain open for school traffic, Blue and Gold Football League events and emergency responses from Fire Station No. 1.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the construction zone and to consider alternate routes when possible. Updates will be shared as the project progresses.
