To complete a cart exchange, residents must leave the cart being replaced at the curb so crews can remove it and deliver the new cart. Residents may continue using their existing cart during this process. Once the cart has been serviced and emptied, it should remain at the curb until the exchange is complete.

Due to high demand and supply logistics, there is currently an estimated 10-day delay for new cart deliveries.

Yard Debris Collection

Yard debris collection parameters have not changed under the new contract.

Waste Pro crews will collect up to 10 cubic yards of homeowner-generated yard debris per week, which is approximately 50 standard 39-gallon bags.

To help visualize this volume, a pile of 10 cubic yards is roughly 11 feet wide, 6 feet deep and 4 feet high.

Collection Guidelines

• Branches and limbs must be no more than 6 feet in length

• Limbs must be no more than 12 inches in diameter

• Yard waste must be properly contained, bagged or bundled for collection

• Residents are responsible for removing any debris that exceeds these limits

Residents who currently have more than one City-issued yard debris cart will continue to receive service for those carts after July 1. Moving forward, the City will issue one optional yard debris cart per household upon request.

Bulk Item Collection

Bulk waste collection is for large or heavy household items and is separate from regular household trash.

There is a limit of up to five cubic yards of bulk items per week placed at the curb outside of the cart.

Examples of bulk items include:

• Furniture such as sofas, chairs and tables

• Appliances such as washers, dryers and refrigerators

Appliance Requirements

Items containing refrigerants, including refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners, must have certification from a licensed technician confirming refrigerant has been properly removed.

Once certified and tagged, state law requires refrigerator and freezer doors be removed before placement at the curb for pickup.

Important Guidelines

• Do not mix bulk items with yard debris or household trash

• Bulk items must be placed separately at the curb for collection

• Residents are responsible for ensuring materials are properly sorted for pickup

The following items are not accepted at the curb:

• Sand, dirt, mulch, gravel and concrete

• Bricks, stone, tile and roofing materials

• Sawdust, steel, steel poles and auto parts

• Glass, mirrors and lawn mowers

These materials are accepted at the City’s semi-annual Amnesty Dumpster Day event.
