Germantown Cart Delivery Update: What You Need to Know

Post Date:07/02/2026 3:38 PM

As Germantown transitions to its new sanitation contract, Waste Pro crews are continuing to process a high volume of cart requests from residents. More than 1,200 requests have been submitted for additional carts, replacement carts and recycling cart exchanges, resulting in longer delivery times than originally anticipated.

Temporary Waste Pro Carts

To help fulfill requests as quickly as possible, Waste Pro has temporarily exhausted its inventory of Germantown-branded carts. While additional City-branded carts are on order, some residents may temporarily receive Waste Pro-branded carts.

Temporary cart color combinations include:

  • Trash carts: Green with a blue lid

  • Recycling carts: Blue with a green lid

Once additional Germantown-branded carts arrive, Waste Pro crews will automatically replace temporary carts.

Delivery Schedule and Instructions

Crews are expected to continue deliveries on Friday, July 3, and potentially through the holiday weekend as operations allow.

Residents exchanging a smaller recycling cart or damaged cart should leave the cart being replaced at the curb until the exchange is completed. Residents may continue using their existing cart during this process, but once serviced and emptied, it should be returned to the curb for pickup.

Waste Pro currently expects to fulfill all existing requests during the week of July 6. We appreciate residents’ patience as crews continue working through deliveries.

Need an Additional or Replacement Cart?

It is not too late to submit a request. If you still need an additional cart or a replacement for a damaged cart, please fill out the Online Request Form.

Please note: Germantown City offices will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day and will reopen Monday, July 6. Residents needing assistance during this time are encouraged to use the online request form.
