Waste Pro Collection to Begin Earlier Due to Extreme Heat
Post Date:07/28/2026 4:22 PMTo help protect sanitation workers during the current period of extreme heat, the City of Germantown has approved a temporary adjustment to Waste Pro’s residential collection schedule.
Beginning Monday, August 3, Waste Pro crews will start collection routes at 6:30 a.m., 30 minutes earlier than the normal 7 a.m. start time. The earlier start time is expected to remain in place through the end of September, weather permitting.
Residents are encouraged to place their trash, recycling and yard debris carts at the curb the night before their scheduled collection day to ensure they are ready for pickup.
This is a temporary operational change designed to reduce crews’ exposure to extreme temperatures while maintaining reliable collection service. Waste Pro will continue its routes and return to any missed locations, if necessary, to ensure all scheduled collections are completed.
The City appreciates residents’ cooperation and understanding as crews continue providing essential sanitation services during the summer heat.Return to full list >>
