August utility statements (covering July service) reflect Germantown’s new solid waste pricing. While the line items look a bit different to accommodate the City’s billing software, your net monthly cost directly matches the rates previously announced.

Here is how the accounting works:

• The software applies a standard baseline fee of $74.70 (listed as RES BKDR SANITATION) to all residential accounts.

• It then applies a credit or cart fee based on your specific service tier and the number of carts active at your address.

• Extra Cart Timing: If you had an extra cart of any type on site before July 1, the applicable fee will appear on this bill. If an extra cart was requested or delivered after July 1, that charge will not be applied until your next monthly statement.
