The City of Germantown Administration Department is led by City Administrator Patrick Lawton who has served as the City Administrator since 1989 and is responsible for the day to day operations of the City. The city administrator reports directly to the Mayor and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen as a collective legislative body. Lawton is responsible for managing a team of professional public servants and is guided by the City of Germantown and ICMA codes of ethics.

Other administrative team members include the City Clerk, the Executive Secretary to the Mayor and City Administrator, Marketing and Communications staff and Budget and Performance staff.

Germantown's Administrative team takes the lead in managing and tracking progress toward achieving the goals set forth in the Germantown Forward 2030 vision statement.
