The City of Germantown is proud to offer an off-leash dog park where residents can spend quality time with their dogs in a safe, welcoming environment. This facility adds to our extensive recreational opportunities.
To ensure a positive experience, rules adopted by the Parks and Recreation Commission are reviewed during a required PowerPoint orientation at registration.
Use of the park is at your own risk. Owners are fully responsible for any injuries or damage caused by their dogs or dogs under their care.
Dogs must be supervised at all times by an adult 18 or older. Children under 18 may enter only when accompanied by an adult and must not chase or pet dogs without owner permission.
Dogs must be leashed in parking lots and walkways. Leashes may be removed only inside the designated off-leash fenced area. Owners must keep a leash readily available.
Each adult may bring no more than three dogs at a time. Dogs must remain under voice and visual control. Excessive barking should be quieted or the dog removed.
Unattended dogs are not allowed. Abandoning animals is prohibited by law. Aggressive dogs are banned and may result in loss of park privileges. Dogs in heat, sick dogs, and puppies under six months are not permitted.
All dogs must be licensed, vaccinated, and it is strongly recommended they be on heartworm and tick prevention.
The use of prong, choke or spiked collars is prohibited. Dogs must be off-leash inside the fenced area to avoid tension and unsafe conditions. Digging is not allowed as it creates safety hazards.
Owners must clean up after their dogs inside and outside the off-leash area. Waste stations and bags are provided. Failure to clean up will result in a fine.
No tobacco products, alcohol, food or glass containers are allowed in the park. Rawhides, bowls of food and long-lasting chews are prohibited to prevent dog aggression. Small, bite-sized training treats are allowed.
Professional dog trainers must have written permission from the City to use the park for training.
The City of Germantown reserves the right to deny access or remove anyone from the park. The City is not responsible for accidents, injuries, theft or loss on park property.
