Permit Application

A building permit is required before installing any detached structures on your property, regardless of their intended use. This includes, but is not limited to: garages, carports, pool houses, gazebos, barns, arbors, wooden decks, greenhouses, swimming pools, tree houses, play forts/houses, baseball batting cages, playground equipment,

Permit Information:

  • Issuing Office: Economic and Community Development, 1920 S. Germantown Road
  • Fees: Permit fees vary depending on the type, size, and structure of the detached building. Contact the Economic and Community Development office for specific fee information.
  • Late Fee: Permit fees are doubled if work begins before a permit is issued.

Important Considerations:

  • Location, Height, and Size Restrictions: There are specific regulations regarding the placement, maximum height, and allowable size of detached structures on your property based on zoning ordinances and setbacks. Contact the Economic and Community Development office for details relevant to your project.
