Construction Approval

Guiding your Project from Planning Approval to Final BMA Approval

Overview of Engineering Construction Approvals

This critical next stage encompasses all necessary detailed engineering drawing reviews, official City of Germantown approvals for those construction drawings, finalization and approval of the Development Contract (requiring BMA approval), and the issuance of any necessary engineering-related permits. Our Engineering Department's goal during this phase is to ensure your project's detailed engineering design, site work, public improvements, and contractual obligations align with all City standards, codes, and ordinances, setting a solid foundation for successful execution.

Clarifying Your Starting Point

Your project enters this crucial phase with the City of Germantown's Engineering Department after it has successfully navigated the Planning Division's review process and has received:

  1. Planning Approval from the Planning Commission (PC) and or the Design Review Commission (DRC) (as applicable).

  2. Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BMA) approval specifically for Justified Design Alternatives (JDA) (if applicable).

With these preliminary approvals for your site layout in place, Phase 1, managed by our Engineering Department, focuses on the detailed technical aspects required before any construction can begin.
