Right-of-Way contractors MUST have a City of Germantown Business Tax License and bond. This license and bond allow contractors to legally work within the city and public right-of-way.

What you need to fill out your permit application online:

Applicant Information: Provide owner, subcontractor, and project contact information so we can reach you throughout the process.

Description of Work Proposed: Briefly explain the nature of your project.

Location of Work Proposed: Clearly describe the location where the work will be done. Needs to be the nearest Street address to the beginning point.

Proposed Utility Route: A .Zip containing a shapefile (not KMZ) is required in order to indicate the planned path for your utility installation. (Not sure what these are? We can help!)

Construction Plans (Must be stamped and to scale):

Show the location and route of all existing facilities

Detail the location, route, line, length, and grade for all proposed underground facilities.

Provide the number of proposed conduits to be installed.

Describe methods for temporarily protecting existing structures.

Provide Traffic control documentation (Must be MUTCD compliant)

TDOT, Railroad and ROW Permits: Need to be obtained and submitted with permit application prior to performing work within the applicable right-of-way.
