Books by Mail
Service for Homebound Seniors
Books by Mail is a free library service for homebound seniors living in Germantown. The program is for those 60 and older who are confined at home or in a residential facility due to an illness, injury, frailty or physical disability. Books by Mail serves those living in 38138 and 38139 zip codes.
How it Works
By completing a simple application, residents will be mailed regular and large print books and audio books they request. Library staff will even assist in selecting titles for those interested. Library materials will be delivered to the homebound in a canvas mailbag by the US Postal Service. All mailing costs will be paid by the library. Two items can be checked out at one time for a four-week period. When items are returned, two more items can be mailed to participants.
