Courtroom Guidelines

To ensure a safe and respectful environment, all visitors to Germantown Municipal Court are expected to follow these guidelines:

Security

• Weapons are not permitted inside Germantown City Hall
• All persons, bags and packages are subject to search

Dress Code
Proper attire is required to enter the courtroom:

• Hats, caps and bonnets are not permitted
• Tank tops, halter tops, midriff tops, mini-skirts and shorts are not permitted
• Bare feet and flip-flops are not permitted
• Pajamas and lounge wear are not permitted
• Shirts must be worn appropriately and pants must be worn at the waist

Courtroom Conduct

• Remain seated and quiet unless addressing the court or court personnel
• Do not approach the judge’s bench unless instructed
• When addressing the court, keep your hands visible and at your sides
• Recording is not permitted

Electronics

• Cell phones and all electronic devices must be turned off inside the courtroom
• Texting is not permitted

Lobby Etiquette

• Please speak quietly while court is in session
• Food, drinks and gum are not permitted in the courtroom or lobby

Payments

• All court costs and fines are due on your scheduled court date
